The major story goes as follows: in the future human boxing was outlawed and replaced by robot fights. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) lost any chances to become a boxing champion when steel robots replaced human in this bloody sport. Huge 8-foot-tall, 2000-pound machines occupied the ring.
